Education & Technology
The future of the United States rests with the next generation of young Americans who are currently at the K-12 education levels. The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) dramatically increased federal authority in decisions that had once been made by families, local school boards, and the states. Congress and the Department of Education continue to seek new powers to set policies that govern America's public schools—primarily through federal mandates. NCLB carries enormous costs, both in terms of federal taxpayer dollars and in terms of state and local revenues dedicated to its implementation. Its success as a public school reform strategy is still unproven. Greg Goode believes that an overly bureaucratic system of education in this country hurts children, and will:
Work for policies that remove federal bureaucrats from the decisions that should be made by parents and local school boards.
Create a system of learning that provides choices for families to ensure that every young American may reach his or her fullest potential.
Fight for the adoption of policies that encourage local ownership of education issues and problems while promoting innovations such as merit-based pay, bonuses and incentives for new teachers, and charter schools.
Offer parents the choice of which school to send their children and increase focus on math, science, and entrepreneurship education.
Seek federal investment for partnerships between Indiana's colleges and universities and the Naval Surface Warfare Center at CRANE.

Constituent Service
Consituent service is much more than sending mass email updates to those fortunate enough to own a computer, or staging one-day, photo-opportunities at grocery stores. It is about diligent service to assist the citizens who struggle to cope with the bureaucratic red tape of Washington, DC.
Greg Goode was the Constituent Services Director for a US Congressman from 1997-2000.
He would not hire liberals who previously worked for Barack Obama and are from outside our great state. He understands that a Congressional staff should be made up of dedicated people WHO ARE FROM INDIANA and appreciate our heritage and values!
He is committed to re-opening Congressional District Offices in Vincennes and Covington.
Greg Goode will ensure that all citizens have traditional access to their Congressman while also implementing the new "GOODE E-Link Congressional Services Program," that would provide constituents direct, online access to the Congressman every day.

Fiscal Responsibility
Washington has betrayed the fiscal values that made America great, and Hoosier middle class families and businesses are plagued with "T.R.L. Syndrome" (Taxation, Regulation, and Litigation). Our government's unwillingness to protect us from overburdening taxes, excessive regulations, and frivolous lawsuits is sending the American Dream on the path of destruction.
Democrats and Republicans in Washington are responsible for the handing over of middle class jobs to China and other nations on a silver platter. These were the jobs that once brought prosperity to the heartland, and these jobs are no more. We must find new ways to spur economic growth so that Hoosiers of all ages may continue to live the American Dream. Greg Goode will:
Sign and honor the sacred pledge to NEVER raise taxes.
Work to find new international markets for Indiana farmers and businesses while working to ensure that the companies in foreign countries will have to abide by the same labor, environmental, and occupational safety laws as American companies.
Champion enforcement mechanisms to once and for all balance the Federal budget and protect the economic future for our children and grandchildren.
Fight any scheme that robs the people of their Social Security and Medicare.
Pioneer innovative policies that place more money in the hands of people to make healthcare choices based on affordability and in accordance to patient needs.

Defending Our Heritage, Protecting Our Values
Washington continues to abandon the American family while ignoring the values that Hoosiers cherish. Greg Goode is a Christian first, then an American, then a conservative, and then a Republican--in that order. He recognizes the founding Christian influence that, by the will of God, set the United States of America on its destined path to greatness.
Greg Goode supports Indiana Right to Life and is fundamentally opposed to abortion. He will work to protect human life at all stages of life.
Greg Goode is a member of the Gun-owners of America, the National Rifle Association, and possesses his Indiana Lifetime Conceal/Carry permit. He believes the Second Amendment is about more than hunters' rights and will work to protect the rights of Hoosiers to bear arms, granted by our Second Amendment.
A husband for more than seven years and a father for more than three years, Greg Goode believes there is absolutely no substitute for a strong family, and he will steadfastly protect the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman.

National Defense, Foreign Policy, and Homeland Security
Washington continues to wander aimlessly in defense policies that are outdated, under-funded, and not relevant to the national security interests of the USA in the 21st Century. Our country is no longer engaged in the challenges of the Cold War. Instead, we struggle for survival against: (1) illegal aliens who are literally walking into our country unchecked, (2) radical Islamic terrorists who have demonstrated the ability and willingness to take American lives on American soil, and (3) world order movements that will strike at the very sovereignty of our great country. Moreover, Indiana is blessed to be the home of the Naval Surface Warfare Center at CRANE, but this key military presence is under threat of closure by Washington bureaucrats. Greg Goode will:
Work to champion CRANE in Washington, DC.
Work to secure the borders of the United States and deport illegal aliens.
Follow America's national security interests as our only guide to foreign policy--not the encroaching policies of the United Nations.
Fully fund and empower the American men and women in uniform, and protect them from the agents of political correctness, the armchair generals of the media, and the liberal special interest groups who are second-guessing our military leaders in the war on terror.
Support and defend Israel against unfair, so called "peace-process" deals that benefit radical Islamic terrorist groups who are working every day to prevent true peace in the Middle East.

Championing I-69 and Indiana's Transportation Needs
Today, for every dollar Hoosiers pay at the gasoline pump in Federal gas taxes, the State of Indiana receives no more than 92 cents in return for high priority transportation funding. Moreover, out of over $40 billion worth of Federal transportation funding available to the states last year, not one cent was secured for Interstate-69 by the Indiana Congressional Delegation. In the meantime, communities large and small throughout the Eighth Congressional District are battling the complications of outdated sewer systems, while some communities are facing the prospect of building new systems all together.
Greg Goode is a former transportation aid to a US Congressman, and he believes that we must find Federal solutions to the growing transportation and infrastructure challenges facing our communities. Specifically, Greg Goode will:
Pledge to seek a position on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
Complete I-69 once and for all!
Work to correct the Federal funding disparity that is preventing billions of dollars in transportation funding from coming to Indiana.
Work with Republican and Democrat County Councils and Commissioners on the high priority transportation and infrastructure needs of our communities.

Energy Independence
For decades, Washington has ignored our growing dependence on foreign oil. Today, we are experiencing the results of past energy policy failures with skyrocket gasoline prices, a hurting economy, and no relief in sight. Domestic oil producers are not allowed to drill in our own country and a new oil refinery hasn't been built since the 1970's. Most recently, Congress' approach to this crisis included raising taxes on American oil producers which did nothing more than increase our dependency on the oil of the Middle East. Environmental regulations and mandates have increased, and America is bracing for summer gas prices at over $4 a gallon. While Indiana sits on more coal than nearly any other area of the world, Congress continues to exclude coal from playing a strong role in our nation's energy policy.
Greg Goode is a champion of free market approaches to increase American coal, oil, natural gas, ethanol, bio-fuels, solar/wind power, hydrogen energy, and any other energy source that will once and for all completely eliminate all foreign oil from coming into our great country. He believes the time has come for new ways of thinking when it comes to energy and will:
Fight to increase America's ability to drill for oil within our great country and create the opportunities to increase our nation's oil refinery capacity.
Champion two of Indiana's greatest contributions to a national energy program: Coal and Bio-fuels, and will work for long-term, free market approaches that develop alternative energy sources.
