Goode Pledges To Open Covington Office
Greg Goode (R-IN), Candidate for Congress Monday, April 14, 2008 Covington, Indiana For more information: Contact Dennis Campbell at 812-201-6156
CovingtonEighth District Congressional candidate Greg Goode today announced his plan, if elected, to open a Congressional district office in the community of Covington that will be dedicated for assisting constituents who are having difficulty in dealing with the federal government.
"Commitment to a strong constituent services program is a defining characteristic of a Congressman who is accessible to his constituents and responsive to their needs," said Goode. "I think it is unrealistic for folks in Fountain County and the other northern counties of the 8th District to have to travel to Terre Haute to meet with their Congressman and his staff."
Goode previously served as the Constituent Services Director for United States Congressman, Ed Pease (R) from 1997-2000. "I know of no better place to open this office than Covington, the hometown of one of our state’s greatest CongressmenThe Honorable John T. Myers," continued Goode.
Goode hinted of his district office plan on Sunday, April 13th while speaking at the Fountain County Lincoln Day Dinner at the Beef House. "There previously was a Congressional district office in Covington, and I was disappointed when I heard it was closed by the current Congressman," said Goode. "Listening to Hoosier families confirmed my strong belief of having a Congressional office in Fountain County," Goode stated.
Goode's Covington office proposal is part of his "Goode Plan for a Better America," which specifically emphasizes stronger constituent services. He is running unopposed in the upcoming May Republican primary.
